Located in the most obscure places of Kepong Baru,  right smack in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the Kepong Baru market is what we presume to be a lavishly furnished building (the old run-down Parkson Ria). Auntie Wan has 3 floors this time (imagine the size of her kitchen!) There was a wedding the night we were there and some people in Malaysian Brides were asking about it

Makan Time!

We've got our usual 'must order dish' for Wai's sake. We never fail to order 'Sweet & Sour Pork' in a Chinese Restaurant whenever he comes along ^-^

Sweet and Sour Pork : Succulent pork meat pieces with crunchy batter, in a tangy citrus sauce of capsicum, tomatoes, pineapple and Onions.

The family favourite, "Ham Yu Zhu Yok Peng", Cantonese for " Fried Pork and Salted Fish Patties" often served with a few halved limes (limau kasturi) for that additional zing.

Salted Fish and Pork Patties: Salted Fish and Pork paste simmered lightly in oil to great a crispy and chewy patties. So juicy and not as salty or 'strong smelling' as you would think

We've also got another family favourite, The Oriental Lamp Chops...

Oriental Lamb Chops: Lamb Chops in an sticky barbeque like sauce with an slight pepperish flavour.

A serving of sizzling claypot chicken...

Claypot Chicken: Sliced Ginger and Chicken marinated with a rich savoury sauce with the glisten and aroma of Sesame Seed Oil.

Asam Prawns: Prawns swimming in sour-ish asam gravy that's slightly spicy. Accompanied with a lady fingers.

We did of course have some Vege to go along with all that meat.

Fried Eggplant Dish: A lightly cooked eggplant dish with a salty and light spice flavour. This dish had to be cooked 'just right' before the eggplant is overcooked into a soggy mush.

No Chinese meal is complete without Rice,

Emperor's Fried Rice: This is the Fried Rice of royalty. Dried Scallop bits , special prawn meatballs, diced spring onions with long grain rice. There could be hints of peanut oil and rose wine

We had our money's worth for paying less than RM30 per pax (maybe it's cause we have known the owner for one and a half decades) for all these dishes considering that it would be rated under the 'above-average' Chinese Restaurant Dining.

Def Non-Halal, this is for one of those times you want to have that family meal experience.

Now, I am that one kind of girl who truly enjoys a whole basket of steamed pork dumplings all to herself. I can down 3 or 4 baskets in one seating too, which really depends on my appetite.

Dad was complaining about how much I eat (oh he fears that his daughter won't get married because of her frightening ravenous hunger when meal time comes to play) and mom's friend drops me a friendly slap in the but as I appear more than nonchalant about it.

A slap on the streets of Jalan Telawi(s), and then my mom and her friend seem to be trigger happy slapping the cheeks of my butt.

''GIRL...." auntie goes...

''SO SOFT! better go and exercise" *slap slap*

*mom slaps* "Aiyoh girl, people slap your bum or see your bum, people will thing you 'kena' (get) banged alot oh! " *slap* "Correct or not auntie?" *slap*

*auntie slaps again* " Yah better exercise adi lu"

Now..all that slap wasn't really necessary, but the moment close relations start comparing my physical outlook to that of a professional courtesan, I flipped!

Mom had to rub in ..."Some more you wear these kind of pants...short, short, people can see your saggy bum"

I spent the rest of the evening trying to hide my buttocks from plain sight. How unnecessary and uncalled for. This is the bloody first time I've ever heard that ladies get a flat butt from sleeping around too much. Not that I have experience, but I thought sexual intercourse was a form of exercise that is supposed to keep you fit.
Geez...now I really have to start doing squats, lunges and god knows what to put some cushion back into my whore-like ass some seriously flat back tires .

I REALLY DESPISE EXERCISE! I'll try to moan and groan less about working out. If anyone meets me after this post, it would do you much good if you PLEASE don't observe me bum for a while.
